Based on the success of an earlier project where we provided construction management agency services to Henry County Health Center for a new energy center and surgical center, Carl A. Nelson & Company was engaged to provide CMa services again on an extensive remodeling project at the health center’s medical office building, which houses Mount Pleasant Family Medicine.
The project included renovation of clinic spaces including exam rooms, procedure rooms, nurses’ work areas and patient checkout, as well as remodeling of hospital-used spaces on the lower level of the facility for inpatient pharmacy with clean rooms, central sterilization and staff training. Replacement of four air-handling units with modern equipment to serve most of the hospital campus also was included in the project.
Work on the project was delayed for several months due to a COVID-19 shutdown. When work resumed, the renovation was completed below the budgeted amount and within the revised schedule.
