Carl A. Nelson & Company was awarded a $7.53 million contract by the University of Northern Iowa for its Steam Distribution Replacement project, Phase 2B, which included a four-phase installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of steam tunnel from 27th Street to the UNI-Dome, feeding the dome and the McLeod Center; replacement of expansion joints in existing steam and condensate lines inside the UNI-Dome, including mechanical system upgrades; and installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of pre-engineered direct-buried steam and condensate lines from north of the UNI-Dome to the Wellness & Recreation Services Building, including partial replacement of existing steam lines feeding both buildings.
