Carl A. Nelson & Company was selected as the general contractor for a $900,000 project to replace three aging cooling towers at the University of Northern Iowa power plant in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The work included removal of the original wood cooling towers and installation of new stainless steel units. In addition to setting the three new towers, work included piping and activation, as well as the addition of fiberglass grating.
