Carl A. Nelson & Company, following a series of successful projects for Royal Canin USA, Inc., in Rolla, Missouri, was engaged by Royal Canin Canada Company to be design-builder for a $49 million, multiphase project to construct a new pet food production plant, corporate offices and quality control lab on a greenfield site in the Toronto suburb of Guelph.
For warehousing and distrubution, the project included:
- Raw materials warehouse;
- Finished product warehouse;
- Point-of-sale warehouse;
- Receiving and unloading facility.
The warehouses were constructed of structural steel framing and insulated pre-cast concrete walls.
