Police Headquarters Building Renovation

City of Burlington, Burlington, Iowa

Project Overview

Owner City of Burlington, Iowa
Location Burlington, Iowa
Delivery Method Construction Management Agency
Description Remodeling
Gross Floor Area 30,000 SF

Carl A. Nelson & Company was construction management agency for the City of Burlington, Iowa, for the remodeling of the former US Bank building in downtown Burlington for use as Burlington Police headquarters.

Work at the facility, originally built by Carl A. Nelson & Company in the 1970s, involved a $3.1 million remodeling project that included specific security and policing support requirements: modern security camera systems and access control hardware, bullet-resistant wall panels and glass in secure areas, modern locker rooms and workout facilities, secure evidence control and storage, and a forensic laboratory. Work was completed in June 2018.

More recently, in 2020, we were involved in converting an existing storage area into a state-of-the-art video training room.
