Carl A. Nelson & Company was the successful competitive bidder for the new Mt. Pleasant Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project included the construction of a new 4 million gallons-per-day (MGD) sequencing batch reactor activated sludge wastewater treatment plant and two lift stations with capacities of 2.5 MGD and 4 MGD. Modifications to the existing wastewater treatment plant included the demolition and abandonment of existing facilities and the conversion of treatment units into side stream, wastewater flow equalization basins. The project included the construction of 5,692 linear feet of 24-inch ductile iron outflow sewer, the installation and programming of seven programmable logic controllers, interconnecting telemetry systems and field instrumentation.
