Time-lapse video of Washington YMCA project
4 years, 6 months ago
With work down to the last couple of months before the new YMCA of Washington County, Iowa, opens to members and the public, we wanted to show you just how far the project has come.
This time-lapse video shows nearly three months of progress condensed into just two minutes, starting June 24, 2019, and concluding Sept. 16, 2019. That spans 56 working days before the camera was taken out of service as equipment brought to the job obstructed its view.
In a few weeks, we hope to bring you additional footage from indoors, where workers are installing the brand new gym floor, preparing the elevated track and doing other finish work..
The $9 million, 34,000-square-foot building, which is a design-build project of Burlington, Iowa-based and employee-owned Carl A. Nelson & Company, also will feature a Spin room, community multi-purpose room, locker rooms, space for before- and after-school programs and an exercise studio.
CANCO is proud to be associated with this important community project, and would like to offer its congratulations to the YMCA of Washington County for being named a 2019 Harvey Holden Award recipient from the Washington Economic Development Group during the Greater Washington Business Partnership annual dinner March 9 in Riverside, Iowa.
