New project engineer joins CANCO in Cedar Falls office

Eastern Iowa native Thad Clark is a 2023 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa in construction management.
Thad Clark joined Carl A. Nelson & Company's north office in Cedar Falls in April 2024, looking forward to expanding his horizons in commercial and industrial construction after a first year spent with a pre-engineered metal buildings contractor.
That year of real-world experience, along with summers before and during college building houses for a firm in his hometown of Maquoketa, in eastern Iowa, prepared Thad for the kind of work he wants to do with CANCO, which includes office-based project management. The 2023 construction management graduate from the University of Northern Iowa said he likes the Cedar Falls area and wanted to stick around after college. He said CANCO appealed to him because of the depth of detail and organization the company approaches projects with. His initial project involvements since joining CANCO have been power-related, working in the electrical shop for one industrial client, and on a switchgear enclosure for another.
Outside of work, Thad enjoys spending time working out and training in jiuijitsu at a gym in Waterloo. He also enjoys outdoor activities including fishing and hunting.
