Manufacturing and safety experience strengthen industrial project delivery
Carl A. Nelson & Company has welcomed Jacob Froebe to its Burlington, Iowa, project management team as a project engineer, bringing experience in construction, industrial safety and manufacturing operations.
Froebe joins the company after nearly eight years with Silgan Containers Corporation, where he advanced to assistant superintendent and helped lead daily plant operations, major equipment overhauls and efficiency initiatives.
That manufacturing experience gives Froebe firsthand understanding of the demands construction can place on an operating facility — and the importance of coordinating work around production schedules, equipment needs and plant personnel, a perspective that aligns closely with Carl A. Nelson & Company’s focus on careful planning, communication, and minimizing disruption for clients.
Before moving into manufacturing, Froebe worked in construction and industrial safety, including roles as a concrete technician, equipment operator and foreman. He later supported major turnarounds in chemical, oil and gas facilities with Tactical Safety Solutions, providing confined-space and high-angle rescue and industrial fire services, experience that reflects the company’s emphasis on safety-first execution in complex industrial environments.
“Operating in those environments was highly rewarding,” Froebe said. “It taught me how to remain completely calm under pressure, cut through the noise, and find solutions to complex problems quickly and effectively.”
Froebe said Carl A. Nelson & Company’s safety culture was one of the things that attracted him back to construction.
“When considering a career pivot back to construction, Carl A. Nelson & Company’s achievement of 1.5 million man-hours with zero lost time immediately stood out to me,” he said. “Coming from an intensive industrial safety background, I know firsthand the massive effort required to hit a milestone like that.”
As a project engineer, Froebe will initially support project managers on industrial construction projects in southeast Iowa.
His combination of field, safety and manufacturing experience adds another perspective to Carl A. Nelson & Company’s work with industrial clients throughout the region.
