Carl A. Nelson & Company will lead another, but larger, project for the meat snack-maker to retrofit an existing building to support increased production.
Carl A. Nelson & Company (CANCO) is pleased to be able to announce a continued partnership with Western Smokehouse Partners, headquartered in Galesburg, Illinois, to expand production into a new facility in Mexico, Missouri.
The project is similar to one led by CANCO to retrofit an existing plant facility for food-grade use. That plant, a 116,000 SF renovation of a former steam turbine testing and production facility, was completed in Burlington, Iowa, as as design-build project in the spring of 2023. The new project will be similar, but more than twice the size at approximately 300,000 SF. The new plant, which is being launched part of WSP's growing relationship with Chomps-brand meat snacks, is projected to begin production in 2025. Also like the Burlington project, CANCO will be design-builder for the Mexico, Missouri, plant upgrade.
