Carl A. Nelson & Company is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Marcus DePalma to the role of Project Superintendent.

"Marcus has done great work in both the project management, as well as field supervision sides of multiple projects," Chris Smith, vice president of operations in CANCO's Burlington office, said in an April 2021 announcement.

One of 33 employee owners of Carl A. Nelson & Company, DePalma has been working as part of the firm's construction management field leadership team in Sioux Center, Iowa, during construction of a new, 180,000 SF, $37.03 million high school building. With that project set for completion in June, he will transition to Cedar Rapids, where CANCO is construction management agency for the College Community School District on a new, 180,000 SF, $42.6 million intermediate school project.

DePalma, who joined CANCO in 2011 in the role of project engineer, has 19 years of total experience in construction. He earned a bachelor of science degree in Building Construction Management from Purdue University in 2006.

In addition to educational projects, he is experienced in industrial, healthcare and other construction markets.
